Renting an Inflatable Bounce House? What You Should Know About Bounce House Injuries

The most common injuries from bounce houses are to arms, hands and elbows. Many bounce house injuries are due to:

  • a collision between bouncers
  • a fall onto an outstretched hand
  • if a child falls out of the bouncer

These usually happen when you have kids of different ages and sizes bouncing together. Try to place kids into appropriate groups and only have one group bouncing at a time.

If an injury occurs and it looks like the arm or leg is physically deformed or there is asymmetry, go to the ER immediately. If it looks normal, it may be OK to wait until the next day to see the doctor, depending on the pain.

I rented bounce houses for my kids all the time when they were growing up. Hope to rent one for my grandson soon. It's so important to have adult supervision at all times. We've never had an injury (a couple close calls), thank goodness. This information is so important to know before making that call to order one. Thanks for sharing, Dr. Heidi Renner .
