Gaining Weight? Here's Why Stress & Weight Gain Often Go Hand in Hand

Two of the most common issues moms come to see me about are stress and weight. There is a lot of research being done about how these are related. One thing we do know is that we tend to not eat as well when we are stressed. We:

  • binge eat
  • make poor choices
  • are less aware of portion size

We also tend to exercise less. When stressed, we don’t sleep well and fatigue further compounds our poor food choices and lack of exercise. All this together can quickly lead to weight gain. Though you may not feel like it, making healthy choices is always important to your well-being.
