Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine: How It Could Help Save a Life!

I get many questions about vaccines from parents, but the HPV vaccine seems to spark the most conversations. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine helps protect both girls and boys from cancers caused by HPV, the most common sexually transmitted virus in the U.S. Parents may wonder if their child really needs the vaccine. HPV is a horrible virus that can lead to:

  • cervical cancer
  • throat cancer
  • penile cancer
  • anal cancer

It can cause genital warts and some vocal nodules. I strongly recommend this vaccine since it is only one of two that prevents cancer. It could save your child’s life.
