Shingles: What You Should Know & Symptoms to Look For!

According to Mayo Clinic, shingles is an infection caused by the chicken pox virus (varicella zoster). You can get shingles even if you've had chicken pox. The virus remain dormant in the body and is later reactivated as shingles. Recognizing the symptoms can help your family and limit further spread of it. Symptoms include: 

  • pain
  • tingling
  • burning
  • red rash that begins a few days after the pain
  • fluid-filled blisters that break open and crust over
  • itching

If you suspect shingles in you or your kids, see your doctor for treatment. Get plenty of rest and avoid contact with others.
