Winter Aches & Pains: Undo the Winter Blues & Muscle Aches With These Gentle Stretches

Frigid temperatures have left many of us frustrated, housebound and cold. My back and shoulders are constantly hunched to keep me warm. Unfortunately, that action has left my back, neck and shoulders cramped. Take time to stretch these areas to avoid injury and constant discomfort.

  • Lie on a stability ball and hang your head and back on top as you splay your arms out to the sides, opening up the front of your body.
  • Sit on the ball and clasp your hands behind your back, stretching your chest.
  • Grab your head above the ear and gently pull to the side to feel your neck lengthen and relax.
