Respiratory Syncytial Virus: If a Child Has These RSV Symptoms, It's Time for the ER!

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a very common illness. For most kids, it’s just like any other virus, and time and rest are what is needed to help your child recover. Still, there are times when more urgent medical care is necessary. You should take your child to the emergency room if:

  • your child quits breathing
  • is having problems breathing
  • the skin starts to turn a bluish color due to lack of oxygen

Always talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.
