Feel Like You're Addicted to Food? Try Intentional Eating! Here's How! by Danielle Omar

Feel Like You're Addicted to Food? Try Intentional Eating! Here's How!

Do you feel like you have no control around certain foods? I work with many people who think they're addicted to food. But can you be addicted to something you need to survive? You can't just stop eating. The deeper issue is likely feeling a lack of control around certain foods. My answer to food addiction is mindfulness. I also call it "intentional eating." Start by paying attention to the reasons you eat and get very familiar with your triggers.

  • Are you bored?
  • Tired?
  • Procrastinating?
  • Stressed?
  • Lonely?

Practice doing this enough and you'll start to see what the real cause of your eating is.
