Got Sick Kids? How to Make Ice Pops to Combat Dehydration!

It's never easy when kids get sick, especially when they're having a tough time eating or drinking enough fluids. The risk there, of course, is dehydration, and you should always consult your pediatrician. When kids aren't taking in enough liquids, they can become lethargic and even dehydrated.

One thing I've found that appeals to sick kids is an ice pop. There's something about that cool, tasty treat that makes it a bit easier to ingest, especially for kids. You can buy them in different flavors or make some yourself, using water, juice or electrolyte-enriched drinks.

  • Pour liquid of choice into a paper cup or Popsicle mold.
  • If using a paper cup, cover cups with plastic wrap then insert a craft stick.
  • Freeze.
  • If you used a paper cup remove the cup before giving it to your child.
