COVID Complications: 4 Times More Women Than Men May Have COVID-19 "Long Hauler" Syndrome by Jacob Teitelbaum
COVID-19 seemingly hits men harder – making the likelihood of their admission to the ICU three times greater than for women, according to a meta-analysis published in Nature. However, 75 percent of patients suffering from COVID-19 “long hauler” syndrome are women.
A study published in Clinical Microbiology and Infection in July 2020 showed a high level of relapse among women following even mild cases of COVID-19 “with persistent symptoms, especially myalgia, intense fatigue, sensation of fever, shortness of breath, chest tightness, tachycardia, headaches and anxiety.”
These after effects confirm Dr. Anthony Fauci’s assessment that persistent symptoms after COVID-19 are suggestive of post-viral chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), which similarly afflicts many more women than men. Four times more women than men suffer from COVID-19 long-hauler syndrome and from CFS.
Women generally have a different immune response than men, which can be a double-edged sword. It allows them to carry a baby for nine months without rejecting it but makes them 300 percent more prone to immune and autoimmune illnesses such as post-viral CFS.
My landmark research on effective treatment for CFS (including postviral) and its painful cousin fibromyalgia was published nearly 20 years ago in The Journal of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (8:2,2001). My newly published study also shows a novel post-viral CFS treatment to be very effective.
See my explanation of “long-hauler syndrome” as post-viral CFS and fibromyalgia in U.S. News and World Reports, September 3, 2020. My highly effective S.H.I.N.E. treatment protocol has been found to improve quality of life by 91 percent in 90 percent of patients with chronic fatigue syndrome treated.
