Is Something Missing in Your Life? Take These 4 Steps to Find Out!

Really, when you look at your life, it all boils down to meaning. You’ve either got a life that feels pretty darn good filled with meaningful people, places, animals, work and adventures in it, or you feel like something’s missing. Sometimes, something is missing, but how do you find it? Here’s an easy way to find out what’s missing and what you want.

  • Go outside in nature or find a quiet, distraction-free spot inside.
  • With pen and paper, write down all the various areas of your life (friends, significant others, work, community, self-care, activities, anything you feel is important).
  • Take a long slow, deep breath. Under each area, write down what you really want in that area. You’ll know it’s what your heart wants because you’ll smile when you write it down.
  • Pick one “want” from each area and decide on one small step you can take to get you closer to having it in your life. Commit to taking small steps daily, or weekly toward your wants. They don’t need to be big ones. I suggest the smaller (and more doable) the better, and more likely you are to do them.

Before you know it, you’ll have what you want – and more fulfillment than you could have ever dreamed!
