Stroke Prevention: 4 Lifestyle Changes to Start Today to Reduce Your Risk by Meredith Schneider
I just received an email from the American Heart Association (AHA) and the stats are alarming. Every 40 seconds someone has a stroke! I have to admit, I did not know this fact and thought immediately how many others might not know this. I felt compelled to share this with our tribe to help spread the word about the importance of stroke prevention. Here are four stroke prevention tips from the AHA:
- Get Enough Zzzzz's: Seven to eight hours of sleep each night can help you rise and shine with enough energy to face your day.
- Be a Social Butterfly: Studies show that people who spend too much time alone have a higher risk of stroke.
- Move Your Body: Just 30 minutes of daily exercise can lower your risk of stroke.
- Get Yourself to the Doctor: Schedule regular visits and talk to your doctor about your risks and how you can reduce them.
