Natural Remedies for Tummy Troubles: Here's How Baking Soda Can Calm Uneasy Stomachs

Stress, depression, sudden triggers and surprising situations, food aversions and medical conditions are just a few of the most common contributors to the onset of uneasy and upset stomachs. Whether the condition lasts for only a few minutes to an hour, or extends and intensifies throughout the night, uneasy stomachs can feel torturous and even excruciating when the queasiness fails to subside. In severe cases of uneasy stomachs turning to intense medical symptoms of a more serious medical condition, a physician should be consulted immediately.

For the average case of uneasiness, though, there are a number of natural remedies that can be utilized for treating the uneasiness, shortening its duration, and preventing its progression. With natural healing applications such as ingestion of small amounts of gingerroot, consumption of stomach soothing teas such as chamomile, and breathing exercises that ensure delivery of oxygen to the brain and body, the brain and body can regulate the digestive system’s natural processes without interference.

Baking soda enters into the treatment process of uneasy stomachs by targeting the stomach and the brain. Hormonal imbalances that can stimulate or inhibit the production and excretion of essential hormones (especially those in “fight or flight” that can cause the blood to leave the stomach due to the sudden onset of stress), can be fixed with baking soda’s ability to restore a balance in the blood and brain.

In addition, 1 teaspoon of baking soda consumed in an 8-ounce glass of water can help aid in the digestion of undigested food particles while aiding the digestive enzymes and acids that can all be disrupted in uneasiness. By combining these natural treatment options, the average uneasy stomach can be resolved quickly, while restoring the essential balance to the body and brain for optimal health and functioning.
