You Have the Flu, Now What? Here's 4 Ways to a Quicker Recovery From Influenza!

Getting the flu stinks, but not every flu diagnosis is a complete disaster. Most people who are not high risk get comparatively mild cases that clear up without medical care or drugs. Still, even healthy kids and adults can get very sick with the flu if they’re not careful. If you’re an unlucky flu victim, he’s what you should do next: 

  • Call in sick. When in doubt, avoid contact with others.
  • Seek fast care. If you suspect the flu, make an appointment with your provider. Antiviral meds like Tamiflu may be an option, but you must act quickly.
  • Rest. Aches and pains are your body’s way of telling you to stay put.
  • Stay hydrated. Fever sweats and appetite loss can cause dehydration. Drink lots of fluid to avoid complications.
  • Treat fever and aches. Over-the-counter medicines will help reduce fevers and make you feel a lot better. 

Getting the flu is never fun, but with the right self-care, you can feel better soon!
