Stay Motivated for Life: 3 Ways to Keep Learning About Yourself & the World Around You

It can be hard to stay motivated in the winter months after the excitement of the holidays and new year are in the past, and vacations and warmer weather seem a long way off. Here are three ways you can not only stay motivated in your job and daily life, but find energy and curiosity to keep learning (the curiosity in itself can be a great motivator in the rest of our lives!):

  • Keep in mind that curiosity builds confidence. What are the first words that come to your mind when you see a small child at work or play? Curious. Enthusiastic. Joyful. Exploring. Persistent. And almost always, confident.
  • Feel the fear. There can be a fearless freedom in learning for the sake of learning, just because you want to, instead of worrying about how you will be evaluated or assessed.
  • Hit the road. Get out of your familiar comfort zone in whatever way you can – whether it’s planning a vacation to a city, region or country you’ve never visited or taking a different route to work.
