Digestive Enzymes: Why to Take Them, How to Choose Them & What They Can Do for You!

Digestive enzymes can make digestion easier so that your body can break food down quickly and completely, extract the most nutrients and get on with the work of detoxifying and cleansing the body. They can take a load off of the stomach, pancreas, liver, gallbladder and small intestine by helping break down difficult-to-digest proteins, sugars and fats. As we age, we produce less enzymes and our bile ducts become congested so that the ones we do produce have a harder time getting to work. Digestive enzymes are helpful for:

  • gas
  • bloating
  • leaky gut
  • irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Crohn’s disease
  • ulcerative colitis
  • diverticulitis
  • nutrient malabsorption
  • diarrhea
  • acid reflux
  • constipation
