The Absolute Best Way to Celebrate Earth Day? Go Vegan! Here's Why! by Ashlee Smith

When people think of ways to help the planet, they mostly think about the obvious – ride your bike instead of drive, recycle, use energy-efficient light bulbs, take shorter showers, etc. But what people don't know is that animal agriculture is more responsible for global warming than anything else. Some food for thought when you’re thinking about how you can help the planet:
- Animal agriculture is responsible for 11 percent of 2020 greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture come from livestock such as cows, agricultural soils and rice production.
- It accounts for at least 32 million tons of CO2 per year.
- It’s responsible for 80-90 percent of U.S. water consumption.
- Animal agriculture occupies 45 percent of the Earth's total land.
Want to help the planet, the lives of innocent animals and your health this Earth Day? It’s easy! Go vegan! The Earth will thank you.
