It's easy to feel panicked when the world around you seems to be spinning out of control. How can you reduce the panicky feelings?

  • Stop. Breathe deeply. Inhale and exhale. Breathe all the way down to the bottom of your toes and let the breath fill your body and calm you down.
  • Notice the thoughts you're telling yourself. Many of them are likely not even true but are causing more anxiety and panic.
  • Give yourself time to relax, to rest, sleep, breathe and remember you can choose to let each anxious thought or feeling go.

I find that writing down my feelings also helps ease my panic. It allows me to distance myself from whatever is bothering me and gives me a more objective view of the situation.
