You don’t have to become a pretzel to get heart-healthy benefits from your yoga practice! All you need to include are these key components:

  • The yoga postures which activate your physical body. Practice poses that suit your level and constitution.
  • Breathe! Don’t hold your breath as you practice the yoga postures. Add some deep breathing or other yoga-breathing practices to your routine. 
  • Meditate either formally or by being mindful. Take time to bring your thoughts to the present moment and center yourself. There are many techniques to choose from. To get you started try these 2 Minute Yoga practices.
