Are You a "Weekend Warrior" When It Comes to Exercise? Here's What a Study Found About Weekend Fitness

Ever wonder if it would be good for you to only exercise just on the weekends? A study by Loughborough University investigated the impact of moderate-intensity exercise for at least 150 minutes weekly, or a minimum of 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise, a week over one or two sessions (termed "weekend warriors").

It was found through analyzing survey data from 63,591 participants, aged 40 and older, that all-cause mortality death was lower as long as the participants were active, even if they are weekend warriors or failed to exercise sufficiently. Cardiovascular disease and cancer were also lower for weekend warriors. The was published in JAMA Internal Medicine

This study is encouraging for those of us who only have time to exercise on the weekends. Just keep at it! Read more about this study via MNT!
