How to Make a Delicious Gluten-free Pot Roast in 5 Easy Steps (Make It Sunday)!

As long as you have the time, making pot roast is so simple and easy – it’s hard to not have good results. A pot roast is braised, which means it is cooked with a small amount of liquid while being covered (with an option of browning first).

You’ll need:

  • 1 1/2 - 2-pound chuck roast
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, cut in thirds
  • 1 - 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 cup gluten-free beef broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes

Here’s how you make it:

  1. Season meat.
  2. Sear meat.
  3. Add veggies to slow cooker.
  4. Add liquid and meat.
  5. Cook low and slow.

Chef tip: Remove meat and allow it to rest for 15 minutes covered. Cut against the grain, perpendicular to the lines. To find out which cuts of meat to use and to get more details, click here.
