Overwhelmed? Waves Will Keep Coming; Here's How to Take Each One at a Time! by Elisa A. Schmitz 30Seconds

There are so many times that I can feel overwhelmed. The challenges of running a household and a business, in addition to my priority of being the best mom and wife I can be, can feel like too much to handle on any given day. And that's if everything is going smoothly.

Then there are those times when life throws you a curveball. While I try not to be surprised by surprises (since they tend to happen on a daily basis), they often upset the precarious apple cart of my life. Just when you thought you had it all balanced, something happens to throw everything off course.

What helps me is to think of life as a series of waves that are going to just keep coming. Some may be big and some small, but they are relentless. Instead of fighting or resisting, the key is to ride them – one at a time.

Go with the flow as best as you can. Inhale. Exhale. Breathe. Take each one as it comes, catch your breath and prepare for the next one. You can do this. We all can. You've got this!

I know this sounds easier said than done, but it's really a great way to copy with life's stressors!

What wise words...thank you! And what a perfect metaphor to think abut as we navigate life. Funny that waves can be smooth and calming....and also the extreme opposite, crashing, powerful, and chaotic!

Yes, Kelli Schulte! Sometimes soothing, and sometimes scary - just like life! Thanks so much for your perspective!
