Negative emotions often cause people to eat when they are bored, angry or already full, says Dr. Susan Albers. Dr. Albers recommends a mustard soak to increase mindfulness, which can lead to reduced stress, better food choices and improved emotional intelligence. “A mustard soak helps relax and detox your body as well as soothe tired or torn muscles – two issues that often lead to emotional eating,” she says.

You’ll need:

  • 1/4 cup mustard seed power
  • 1/4 cup Epsom salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 6 drops of your favorite essential oil

Here's how to do it:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients.
  2. Pour the mixture into a hot bath.
