We use timeout to help our overstimulated, overtired kids, but are we using it to calm and center ourselves, too? When you're feeling stressed, or just need a break from "being Mom," give yourself a timeout.
- Head outside and be in nature (watch my video for a quick mountain retreat!).
- Close the door and simply breathe.
- Take a power nap or hide in the bathroom if you must!
Taking a short break can recharge your brain, re-center your spirit and reignite your energy, helping you go back in there and "be Mom" again, without the stress!
