Always Criticizing Yourself? How to Shift Shame and Feel Lighter!

Moms are often their own worst critics. How do you motivate yourself? Do you eat right or work hard because you love yourself, or are you doing it to avoid self-criticism and shame? Criticizing ourselves does not make us better moms – it just makes us depressed, anxious and unhappy.

To shift self-criticism, stop trying to fix yourself and start trying to love yourself, as is. Love the you that forgets the laundry or eats three donuts. Build a cheer squad in your head with mantras like, “You’re doing a good job!” Reward yourself with inner celebrations.
