Homemade Cocoa: How to Make Hot Chocolate With Peppermint Whipped Cream! by Katie Lewis
Baby, it’s really cold outside! Warm up with this hot chocolate recipe!
- 1 cup cold heavy cream
- 3 candy canes
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 - 2 tablespoons sugar
- pinch salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Here's how you make it:
- For the whipped cream, crush the peppermint candy. Whip the cream until soft peaks form. Add in 2-3 tablespoons crushed candy canes and continue to whip until heavy peaks form. Store in the refrigerator.
- For the hot chocolate, whisk together the cocoa, sugar, salt and milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat until cocoa and sugar are dissolved. Stir in vanilla.
