Homemade Mexican Seasoning Spice Blend Recipe: No Preservatives by Jan Mostrom
I love the freshness of the ingredients in Mexican food. At our house it's made quite often because most Mexican recipes are easy and we all love the tastes and flavors. This homemade Mexican seasoning recipe replaces the store-bought packets that contain preservatives, although I still like those when I don't have this ready to go.
For this easy Mexican seasoning blend you'll need cornstarch, chili powder, salt, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, ground cumin and cayenne pepper. Simply whisk together all the ingredients and put it into an airtight container.
If you like more bite, consider increasing the cayenne until you get to the desired heat. Keep this homemade seasoning blend in your pantry in an airtight container to use anytime you'd like a little spice in your recipe. Try it on these easy fajitas or any other meal for a little extra spice.
