Homemade Air Fryer Corn Tortilla Chips Recipe: You May Never Go Back to Store Bought Chips by Donna John

My introduction to air fryer tortilla chips started when I was making chicken chilaquiles casserole and only had those scoop tortilla chips that are basically little bowls. Needing flat tortilla chips, I knew they wouldn't work for that Mexican casserole. What to do? Make homemade corn tortilla chips in my air fryer! After my first chip, I wondered what took me so long to make homemade tortilla chips. The corn flavor and crispiness is incredible, and I love that I can control how much salt is on my chips.
Making crispy tortilla chips in the air fryer is so easy. Start by cutting corn tortillas into wedges. Lay the tortilla wedges in a single layer in an air fryer basket or on the tray. Spray the tops with nonstick cooking spray and sprinkle with a little sea salt. Bake in a preheated 350-degree air fryer for three minutes. Flip them over, spray again and continue to cook until golden and crispy. This takes about seven to eight minutes per batch.
Use these crispy hot homemade corn tortilla chips in recipes or serve with your favorite dips. These Mexican chips are the perfect dipping vessel for queso, salsa and guacamole. Once you try a homemade chip, you'll have a hard time grabbing that store-bought bag of chips.
