Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup hot water
- 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
Here's how to make it:
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking power, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl. Whisk in the eggs, buttermilk, water, vanilla and oil.
- Line 24 muffin cups with baking liners. Fill the cups up two-thirds full with the batter.
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 20 minutes. Remove and cool completely before frosting.
