3-Ingredient French Onion Twice-Baked Potatoes Recipe Is Like Cheesy French Onion Dip

If you love French onion dip and twice-baked potatoes, do we have a recipe for you! This French onion twice-baked potato recipe by Dean's is creamy, cheesy, loaded with flavor and kind of addictive. (Try to stop eating it!)

The cooked potatoes are cut in half and the potato flesh removed to a bowl and mashed. The French onion dip and shredded cheddar cheese are stirred in, then it's spooned back into the potato skins. Broil the potatoes until hot and golden brown. Wow, right? Dinner just got a lot better.

Serve this fun twice-baked potato appetizer recipe at your next family get-together, tailgating party or as a side dish with dinner. You could change up the cheese, too. Try provolone, Swiss, Gruyere or Monterey Jack. And why not try another flavor of dip? There are so many interesting creamy dips available at most grocery stores. Get creative. Thanks, Dean's!

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes to cook potatoes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Servings: 4 to 8

Ingredients

  • 4 baking potatoes (about 8 ounces each), baked in the microwave or oven
  • 1/2 cup French onion dip (we used Dean’s French Onion Dip)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Here's how to make it:

  1. Cut the potatoes in half through the middle lengthwise. Carefully remove the potato flesh, leaving just the skin (about 1/4-inch thick). Put the potato flesh into a bowl and the potato shells onto a baking sheet.
  2. Mash the potato flesh and stir in the dip and cheese. Fill the potato shells with the mixture.
  3. Heat the broiler. Broil the potatoes until hot and golden (watch them close so they don't burn).
