Couscous Is Fun to Say, But More Delicious to Eat! Try This Simple Recipe!

My kids love couscous, tiny granules of semolina flour typical of North African cuisine. I often serve couscous in place of pasta or rice because it may be higher in vitamins but lower in fat. It's bland, so it takes on the flavor of what you serve it with (I like to add pine nuts). It's especially delicious when paired with stews. Couscous is available in convenient packages and is easy to make. Here's how:

  • Simply boil water.
  • Add butter or olive oil.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Cover for a few minutes.
  • Then just fluff it with a fork.

So quick and easy! Serve with meat and/or vegetables in a sauce of your choosing. Quick and delish. Let me know if your kids like it as much as mine do!
