Easy No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Balls Recipe (6 Ingredients, 15 Minutes) by Ann Marie Patitucci

Easy No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Balls Recipe (6 Ingredients, 15 Minutes)

Craving something sweet but don't want to take on a big baking project? What if I told you that you could make sweet chocolate oatmeal balls with just six ingredients and 15 minutes – with no oven required? It's true!

Some of us love an opportunity not to use our ovens in the summer (or anytime). And, who doesn't love a good no-bake recipe? This no-bake chocolate oatmeal balls recipe is one of the easiest and tastiest ones I’ve come across. One of the things I appreciate about this fun snack recipe is that it’s peanut-free. So you don’t have to worry about kids with peanut allergies, and if you skip the optional nuts, it can be entirely nut-free!

Here's what you need to make these simple gluten-free chocolate oatmeal balls: quick-cooking oats, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, butter, evaporated milk and unsweetened cocoa powder. The chopped nuts and pinch of salt are optional. Serve these low-sodium treats as a fun snack anytime of day or even for dessert with a cup of tea. So easy and delish!

Recipe Notes

  • The number of balls will depend on the size of the balls you form.
  • You can use your favorite nuts in this recipe or no nuts at all.
  • Oats are naturally gluten-free, but to be sure these balls are gluten-free, use gluten-free oats.
  • Store the balls in an airtight container to keep them fresher longer.

Here's how to make it:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, vanilla and salt, if using. Stir in nuts, if using.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter, evaporated milk and cocoa. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in oat mixture.
  3. Use teaspoonfuls of the mixture to form into balls. Drop balls onto wax paper on a baking sheet or a large plate. Allow to cool before serving.
