Hall-of-Fame 3-Ingredient Baked Caesar Chicken Recipe Is a Dinner Grand Slam by Donna John

Hall-of-Fame 3-Ingredient Baked Caesar Chicken Recipe Is a Dinner Grand Slam

I've been on a chicken recipe roll. Chicken is budget friendly, and it takes only a few ingredients to make it shine. This easy baked chicken recipe has just three ingredients and the flavors of a Caesar salad. It's a definite dinner homerun!

All you need are three ingredients for this baked Caesar chicken recipe: bone-in chicken thighs (or your favorite chicken pieces), a bottle of creamy Caesar salad dressing and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Serve this easy dinner recipe with a salad (eggless Caesar salad, maybe?) and a vegetable. Next time, I may sprinkle a little panko over the top to represent the croutons and add a little crunch.

Recipe Notes

  • If using boneless chicken breasts or thighs, check for doneness at about 20 to 25 minutes, depending on thickness.
  • For some crunch, sprinkle with a little panko a few minutes before baking time is up.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Put the chicken into a baking dish. Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper. Pour the dressing over the chicken, coating both sides.
  2. Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven for about 40 minutes or until chicken is cooked through (165 degrees F internal temperature). (The cooking time will depend on how big your chicken pieces are.)
  3. Top each piece of chicken with some of the grated Parmesan. Turn the oven to broil and cook about 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted and beginning to brown.
  4. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.

This looks delicious! When do I sprinkle with breadcrumbs?
Donna John
The recipe doesn't call for them, they're something I may try next time. I'll add them with the parmesan.

Thanks! Planning it for our next dinner!

The recipe states grated parmesan but the photo shows shredded parm. I take it you mean parmesan cheese that you shredded into strips using a grater, as opposed to the "grated" parmesan sold at grocers?*
Donna John
Use whatever kind of Parmesan cheese you like. I happen to have shredded in a tub, but you could grate your own fresh.

Looks delicious, but isn't it dangerous to put a glass dish under the broiler? I'd rather use my cast iron skillet...
Donna John
You can definitely use your cast iron skillet. I used a glass casserole dish and didn't have a problem.

Made this for dinner and it was amazing! I only had half a bottle of Caesar dressing so I made my own to add and make up the difference. I used Parmesan and mozzarella on top with panko crumbs. It was easy and is top five for my husband’s “make again” list! We eat a lot of chicken so I was running out of ideas. Thank you!

So happy you and your husband enjoyed it! My husband has a "make again" list! :-) Kylie Wallace

I've been looking at these pictures and recipe for weeks. Tonight I finally made it. I don't know if my chicken thighs had too much fat, they looked nothing like the pictures here. The dressing seemed to separate, the bottom of the pan was just an oily mess. The chicken tasted fine but didn't really seem to take on the Ceasar taste. I probably won't make again. But I look forward to trying other recipes here.
