Want to Torte a Cake Like a Pro? Try This Easy Baking Hack! by Angie Mozilo

Layered cakes are both delicious and attractive! However, cutting the layers into even torted sections can be tedious and not very precise. To torte a cake like a pro:

  • Take a piece of clean dental floss that is long enough to generously wrap around the cake.
  • Keep the floss at a consistent level on the cake and tie a half knot.
  • Slowly tighten the knot around the cake until it penetrates the outer layer of the cake.
  • Continue tightening the knot until it pulls all the way through.

In a matter of seconds, your layer is cut like a pro, and you'll have a perfectly even layered cake!
