Recipe Notes

  • You can use an electric mixer, but you also could try to make it without one by using a whisk and beating the ingredients rapidly until peaks form.
  • The grated chocolate or cocoa powder makes a nice garnish for this treat.
  • You can use skim milk or your milk of choice for this recipe.
  • You can add more or less sugar, depending on how sweet you like it.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Pour the heavy whipping cream into a mixing bowl. Stir in the cocoa powder and sugar. With an electric mixer or whisk, beat until soft peaks form. (Do not over-whip or you will get cream.)
  2. Fill two glasses with milk (it can be hot or cold). Top with a dollop of the whipped hot chocolate. Sprinkle with grated chocolate or more cocoa powder, if desired.
