- 1 onion, chopped
- 3/4 cup chopped celery
- 2 cups chopped carrots
- 2 cups diced potatoes
- 1 head cabbage, sliced
- 2 cups tomato juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
- 2 cups hot water
Here's how to make it:
- Brown the ground beef with the onion in a large soup pot.
- Add the remaining ingredients. Simmer gently for about 1 hour.
