Refreshing 2-Ingredient Lemon Slushies Recipe: Summer Sippin' Granita Style

Lemon just may be the official fruit and flavor of summer. This easy lemon slushie recipe has two ingredients (plus water and ice!) and can be made creamy or like a granita. Spoon or straw? That's the question you'll need to answer after making this refreshing two-ingredient lemon slushie this summer.

To make this lemon slushie recipe you'll need granulated sugar, lemon juice, water and ice. Make the simple syrup first by cooking water and sugar together on the stovetop. Let it cool, then blend with lemon juice (fresh is best!) and ice. You can also make a creamier slushie (see Recipe Notes), more like a smoothie

While we love lemonade, these icy slushies are a refreshing change of pace. Serve them at your next get-together or pool party!

Recipe Notes

  • To make creamy slushies, put the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses and serve with straws.

Here's how to make it:

  1. To make the simple syrup, combine the sugar with 1/2 cup water in a saucepot. Bring to a simmer and cook until sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes. Cool completely.
  2. Put the simple syrup, lemon juice and 5 cups ice in a blender. Pulse until combined but it still has texture and small pieces of ice. Pour into two glasses and serve with spoons and straws. Garnish with mint, if desired.
