Grandma's Dr Pepper Cake Recipe Is Old-fashioned Southern Sweetness

If you're a fan of Dr Pepper, you are going to love this bundt cake recipe. The cake and the frosting are flavored with that soda so many crave. You'll probably need refills of this easy Dr Pepper cake recipe! This old-fashioned southern cake recipe is straight out of grandma's recipe box.

The easy Dr Pepper cake recipe starts with a box yellow cake mix. Instant pudding, eggs, vegetable oil, Dr Pepper and chopped pecans or walnuts are incorporated to make the cake batter. The cake batter is poured into a bundt pan before being baked in the oven for about an hour. A sweet glaze made with powdered sugar, vanilla and Dr Pepper is poured over the cooled cake.

Serve this moist cola bundt cake for dessert or with a cup of tea or coffee.

  1. Combine all the cake ingredients in a bowl. Whisk together. 
  2. Pour the batter into a greased bundt pan. 
  3. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 1 hour. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Pour the glaze over the cooled cake.
  4. To make the glaze, put the powdered sugar and vanilla in a small bowl.  Add enough Dr Pepper to make a thin, pourable glaze.
