Dr. Pepper Cake Recipe: A Moist Vanilla Bundt Cake Recipe for Soda Lovers

If you're a fan of Dr. Pepper, you are going to love this bundt cake recipe. The cake and the frosting are flavored with that soda so many crave. You'll probably need refills of this easy Dr. Pepper cake recipe!

The easy Dr. Pepper cake recipe starts with a box yellow cake mix. Instant pudding, eggs, vegetable oil, Dr. Pepper and chopped pecans or walnuts are incorporated to make the cake batter. The cake batter is poured into a bundt pan before being baked in the oven for about an hour. A sweet glaze made with powdered sugar, vanilla and Dr. Pepper is poured over the cooled cake. 

You could try other carbonated sodas for this bundt cake recipe like Coke, Sprite, Mr. Pibb, Mountain Dew or Orange Crush. Get creative. Doesn't your favorite soda deserve being part of a cake?

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 can Dr. Pepper
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Dr. Pepper

Here's how to make it: 

  1. Combine all the cake ingredients in a bowl. Whisk together. 
  2. Pour the batter into a greased bundt pan. 
  3. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 1 hour. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Pour the glaze over the cooled cake.
  4. To make the glaze, put the powdered sugar and vanilla in a small bowl.  Add enough Dr. Pepper to make a thin, pourable glaze.
