Cookies
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 2/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- dash of salt
Icing
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- sprinkles
Here's how to make it:
- Cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir to combine then add to the wet ingredients to form a dough.
- Divide the dough in half. Shape each half into a disc, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate about 1 hour.
- On a lightly floured work surface, roll the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on a cookie sheet.
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 10 to 11 minutes. Remove and cool completely.
- To make the icing, melt the chocolate in the microwave until smooth. Drizzle over the cookies. Decorate with sprinkles.
