Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup Will Change the Way You Cook by Gwen Johnson
It seems like so many recipes call for a can of cream of chicken soup. Not being a fan of processed foods, I started making my own homemade version. And it is so much better! Use it just as you would the canned variety.
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (try this homemade chicken broth recipe)
Here's how to make it:
- In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk to combine.
- Pour in the milk and broth. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick, about 9-10 minutes.
