WarPig BBQ Chicken: A Freakin’ Unbelievable Brand & Awesome Recipe (F.U.B.A.R.)

This recipe is so easy it probably doesn’t qualify as an actual “recipe.” Why is it called WarPig BBQ chicken? My husband and I were introduced to WarPig F.U.B.A.R Elite BBQ Sauce and Ham Grenade rub when we won a few bottles at The Rod Ryan Show Charity Meat Raffle at Lucky's Pub West. We were hooked at first taste. My husband cooks in BBQ cookoffs, so we’ve tried a lot of sauces, but nothing beats this one. And they have a cool story...

WarPig BBQ is a competition BBQ team founded by veterans. Over the years they developed their products and put them to the test in competitions across the U.S. HEB, the biggest grocery store chain in Texas, selected their F.U.B.A.R. Elite BBQ sauce as first place in the 2017 Quest for Texas Best contest. And $.50 of every bottle sold is donated to the Folds of Honor Foundation.

If you don't have WarPig products, just use your favorite rub and sauce. You could also substitute pork chops for the chicken.

You’ll need:

  • chicken pieces, whole and with skin on
  • dry BBQ rub
  • barbecue sauce

Here’s how to make it:

Sprinkle all sides of the chicken pieces generously with dry BBQ seasoning. (If you have time, cover and put it in the fridge for a while before baking.)

Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 350-degree F oven until cooked through. Time will vary depending on which chicken pieces are used (legs usually take about 45 minutes). Serve with a side of your favorite barbecue sauce.

It's really good stuff. I've made this "recipe" with chicken thighs, too. And I use the Ham Grenade on steaks, too.

Simple recipes like this are the best. Going to order some of that rub.
