Slow Cooker Apple Butter Is What Needs to Be on Your Biscuit

Fall is here! There's no better way to welcome the season than with this easy slow cooker apple butter recipe. Nothing is more at home on a biscuit  besides butter!

You'll need:

  • 5 - 5 1/2 pounds apples, peeled and chopped fine
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 2 1/2 - 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Put the apples in a slow cooker.
  2. Add the sugar, cinnamon and salt. Mix well.
  3. Cook on high for about 1 hour. Reduce heat to low and continue to cook for about 9-10 hours, or until thick and dark brown. Stir occasionally.
  4. Take the lid off the slow cooker and cook an additional hour. 
  5. When done, still vigorously with a wooden spoon. Pour into jars, cool and store in the refrigerator.
