Parmesan Pearl Onions Recipe: This Creamy Baked Pearl Onion Recipe Will Steal the Show

The local farmer's market had a variety of pearl onions. Who could resist that? I got creative. With a little cream, a little Parmesan and a little time in the oven, these tiny onions were the star of the meal.

Fresh herbs, like rosemary, thyme or parsley, would be welcome to the pearl onion party. Hope you enjoy this delicious onion recipe as much as we do!

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • pearl onions
  • olive oil
  • heavy cream
  • freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Here's how to make it:

Cut the very ends off of the onions and carefully remove the skins.

Put the cleaned pearl onions in a baking dish. Drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven about 30 minutes, or until tender and beginning to brown.

Pour a little heavy cream over the top and continue to bake until cream begins to bubble and thicken. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake about 5 minutes more. Serve.

I just ordered "Onions Etcetera: The Essential Allium Cookbook," from the Amazon list above. It has great reviews and is supposed to be a beautiful cookbook, which we all know is important. lol
