Mardi Gras Cocktail Recipe: Pat O'Brien Would Be Proud of This Hurricane Cocktail Recipe by 30Seconds Food
The famed hurricane cocktail was created by Pat O'Brien, owner of the historic Pat O'Brien's tavern in New Orleans, in the 1940s. With lime, orange, passion fruit and grenadine, it pushes the fruity factor into overdrive.
Mardi Gras is the perfect time to serve this rum cocktail recipe. Maybe with a bowl of red beans and rice or etouffee? It's so easy to make. Put rum, lime juice, orange juice, passion fruit juice, simple syrup, Grenadine and ice into a cocktail drink shaker. Shake! Pour the fruity mixture into a cocktail glass and garnish with orange slices and cherries.
Having a large gathering? Increase the recipe and put the cocktail into a punch bowl. Let your guests help themselves (responsibly!) to the rum punch. And don't forget the Mardi Gras beads!
