Hurricane Cocktail: Pat O'Brien Would Be Proud of This Fruity Cocktail Recipe!

The famed hurricane cocktail was created by Pat O'Brien, owner of the historic Pat O'Brien's tavern in New Orleans, in the 1940s. With lime, orange, passion fruit and Grenadine, it pushes the fruity factor into overdrive.

You'll need:

  • 4 ounces rum
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • 2 ounces passion fruit juice
  • .5 ounces simple syrup (Get Chef Gigi’s easy simple syrup recipe)
  • .5 ounces Grenadine
  • ice
  • cherries
  • orange slices

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Add the rum, lime juice, orange juice, passion fruit juice, simple syrup and Grenadine to a drink shaker. Fill with ice.
  2. Shake!
  3. Pour into a tall glass and garnish with a cherry and orange slice.
