Green beans are a favorite for everyday and for holiday meals. Here’s how to dress up your green beans!
- green beans
- olive oil
- brown sugar (optional)
- melted butter (optional)
- almonds (optional)
Here’s how to make them:
- Bundle 8-10 fresh beans together and wrap with raw bacon. Drizzle a roasting pan with olive oil or pan spray and arrange the bundles in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper.
- Top with brown sugar, melted butter and sliced or slivered almonds, if desired. Bake uncovered in a 350 degree F oven until bacon is done.
The brown sugar and butter will caramelize with the roasted nuts. For a healthier option, lightly saute strips of red pepper to tie your bundles, and replace sugar and butter with herbs and olive oil.
