Easy Green Bean Bundles Recipe: A Simple Thanksgiving Side Dish

Green beans are a favorite for every day and for holiday meals. Green beans get a fancy makeover by simply wrapping them in bacon and topping them with a sweet and savory glaze. Delish!

This green bean recipe is the perfect side dish for chickenpork, beef, lamb or turkey. No measurements are given because it's up to the amount of people being served and your own personal tastes. I like mine kind of sweet, so I add a lot of brown sugar. You could throw in some crushed red pepper flakes for a little heat.

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Bundle eight to 10 fresh beans together and wrap with raw bacon. Drizzle a roasting pan or ovenproof skillet with olive oil or nonstick cooking spray and arrange the bundles in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Top with brown sugar, melted butter and sliced or slivered almonds, if desired. Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree F oven until bacon is done, about 20 to 25 minutes.

Notes: The brown sugar and butter will caramelize with the roasted nuts. For a healthier option, lightly sauté strips of red pepper to tie your bundles and replace sugar and butter with herbs and olive oil.
