How to Make Walking Tacos (aka Tacos In a Fritos® Bag): All the Fun But None of the Mess

Watching sports this weekend? Or ever feel like you're in a weeknight dinner rut? When I want to change up our dinner routine or inject some fun into our game day, I turn to Walking Tacos. Walking Tacos are tacos in a Fritos® bag. I mean are you kidding me?! My kids think I am the coolest mom when I make this for them. Best of all, it's super easy and no crazy mess to clean up at the end of the night.

Here’s how you make them:

  • Before you open the Fritos® bags, break up the chips with your hands.
  • Then comes the fun part! Open the bag and add in your taco meat and the toppings of your choice.

You still get the crunch of a traditional taco shell but without the insane mess of the taco falling apart while you’re eating it. Best of all, your kids will love it and there are no dishes to wash at the end of the night. I make this for my 15-year-old son and his friends a lot and it's always a hit with the hard-to-please teen crowd!

I've eaten walking tacos since I was a kid. Love 'em! I made something similiar a few years ago for a party -- walking frito pies. I made a big pot of homemade chili and put it in a crock pot, put out a big basket of small Frito bags and other toppings like chopped onions, jalapenos, shredded cheese. I put some scissors near the chips and let people go to town. Was a big hit. Thanks for sharing such a fun idea, Chrissy Jones!
