Ground Beef Walking Tacos Recipe Will Help You Win Dinner by Christine Jones

Ground Beef Walking Tacos Recipe Will Help You Win Dinner

Watching sports this coming weekend? Tailgating? Feel like you're in a weeknight dinner rut? When I want to change up our dinner routine or inject some fun into our game day, I turn to walking tacos. Walking tacos are tacos in a chip bag. I mean are you kidding me?!

You still get the crunch of a traditional taco shell but without the insane mess of the taco falling apart while you’re eating it. Best of all, your kids will love it and there are no dishes to wash at the end of the night. I make this for my 15-year-old son and his friends a lot and it's always a hit with the hard-to-please teen crowd!

You can use ground beef, ground chicken or ground turkey for these walking tacos. Put out any taco toppings your family or friends enjoy and let them make their own.

I've eaten walking tacos since I was a kid. Love 'em! I made something similiar a few years ago for a party -- walking frito pies. I made a big pot of homemade chili and put it in a crock pot, put out a big basket of small Frito bags and other toppings like chopped onions, jalapenos, shredded cheese. I put some scissors near the chips and let people go to town. Was a big hit. Thanks for sharing such a fun idea, Chrissy Jones!

These are so fun to make! We also like to do this with Frito pie. Open up the bag of Fritos, spoon in some chili and top with cheese and onions. Takes me right back to the baseball park when I was a kid.
