Reviving Old Bread: Try This Hack to Bring Stale French Bread Back to Life

One of my family's favorite things is really good warm French bread with salted butter. But one of the worst things is two-day old stale French bread. Try using this little trick will let you bring that stale bread back to life:

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Run your bread loaf quickly under running water to evenly coat it. Another option is to fill your cupped hand with tap water and rub it all over the crust of the bread (I know this sounds weird!).
  • Place the loaf of bread directly on the oven rack and heat the bread for 5 to 7 minutes.

You won't believe how crusty and fresh the bread tastes. Total game changer.

So counter-intuitive to use the water! I wouldn't have thought of that. Thanks, Chrissy Jones!
